Whilst the origins of Water Kefir are unknown, historical evidence shows that this drink has been enjoyed in Mexico, Japan and the Caucasus region for centuries. The culture, also known as Water Kefir ‘grains’, refers to the mother or scoby. Made from a symbiosis between bacteria and yeast, combined with water, organic cane sugar and organic apricots, to form a delicious, subtly yeasty, refreshingly acidic and complex drink.
Our Water Kefir is a raw, live product, with naturally occurring good gut bacteria, minerals and enzymes. We are proud to only use raw ingredients: no sweeteners, no additives, no flavourings!
Available in two mouth-watering ranges - Botanical and Seasonal - our Water Kefir is a delicious alternative to soft drinks, but can even be used in cooking and works fantastic as a cocktail mixer. The Botanical range is available all year round and comes in five distinct flavours inspired by nature. The Seasonal range is small batch flavours available in Summer and Winter, each flavour representing the best in season.
This is perfectly subtle and soothing in its use of lavender; with an earthy, floral and slightly menthol quality. Add to the botanicals by infusing with extra woody herbs like rosemary and sage or try mixing with some fresh pear juice. Include in a light salad dressing of lemon, honey and olive oil and serve simply over mixed garden leaves. Or enjoy alongside a Provencal roast chicken or a goats cheese and lemon roast fennel salad.
In this satisfyingly subtle and savoury flavour combination, the initial fizz brings a hint of the zesty lemongrass, followed by a lingering pleasant bitterness of floral jasmine tea. In the same way jasmin tea soothes and satiates spicy Chinese food, this makes a great accompaniment to strong flavours and rich food; spicy coconut curries or sweet citrus deserts. Add a measure of gin and some lychee syrup for a cocktail or enjoy with a piece of white chocolate and cardamom mud cake.
The earthy flavour of the Açai berry is lifted by the sweet scented rose in this antioxidant rich flavour combination. Enjoy with a delicate pistachio and raspberry friand, a mango kulfi on a hot summers day, or a creamy rice pudding as the season changes. Match it with aromatic Indian flavours like roast lamb with yoghurt and saffron or a creamy shahi paneer curry. This is gentle on the pallet, but try adding a few mint leaves and a squeeze of lime to take it in a different direction.
The tart hibiscus and punchy ginger really pack some flavour into this invigorating, wintery drink. Try splashing this over some plums before roasting with a star anise, some orange rind and brown sugar. Enjoy with some sloe gin for a seasonal cocktail or alongside a healthy portion of rhubarb crumble and cream.
This refreshingly citrus drink has a slight pepperiness and a soft piney finish and unsurprisingly goes fantastically well with gin! Try mixing with a measure of gin and champagne for a take on a French 75, or enjoy with equal amounts of tonic water for a non alcoholic alternative. It perfectly cuts through fattier meats and buttery deserts. Drink alongside creamy tarragon chicken or a slice of apple and thyme tarte tatin with ice cream.
